Default is to have separate Sessions for the Back-End and Front-End. You must have enabled Shared Sessions in Global Configuration .
Thank you very much. I did turn that on awhile ago and forgot about it. I have turned it off. Separate sessions are much better.

But... I also just logged in now to let everyone know that my problem with the "Special" status archived content showing up has been solved. I solved it by adding one filter per language and then selecting that Filter for each of the modules. In order to not show all of the older archived content,I had to make sure that the "Special" status content was NOT included within any of the Filters.
