General Questions/New to Joomla! 4.x • Joomla 4 "SAVE" "Cancel" buttons unresponsive

I have a Joomla! 4.4.2 website on PHP 8.2.14.
I have just updated the website to 4.4.2 from a previous version, then I went to update 3rd party extensions like Akeeba (backup and Admintools) JCE editor, RE Forms plugins and another I don't remember.
I have licenses for all of these extensions.

I selected each of them and pressed "UPDATE" but nothing happened. It was as if the Update button didn't work at all.

Since the site was running on PHP 8.1 (this is a low traffic website I use mostly as a testbed), I changed to PHP 8.2.
Nothing really changed, except that at some point Joomla showed me the update for Joomla 5 and all the 3rd party updates disappeared and I could not make them appear again.

Next I went to the Akeeba components themselves to see if they advised there was an update. Neither did, but when I returned to the Extension Update area, now all the updates are back again, but still I can make them work.

Note, I don't get an error, or an alert. It's as if the button didn't work at all. Nothing in the browser window look like something is happening.

I can easily update these 3rd party extension by installing them from the respective downloads, but the fact that the update button is not working worries me. Also, I am not yet ready to update this website to Joomla 5 so I want to sit on it for a bit.

Any ideas?

EDIT:
After further work, I realized that on some pages the top-left buttons do work, on others they are unresponsive. I will place screenshots in a reply to illustrate this issue.
